What to do when not studyingSouth Bohemia is a beautiful part of the Czech Republic, close to both the German and Austrian borders. Whether you come here during summer or winter, there's a great deal of activities available. We include outdoor activities with our students, because we believe a good spirit among the students helps them learn better and makes it easier to support each other. Summers in South Bohemia are warm and pleasant, with great opportunities for cycling, swimming (in the Vltava or Malse rivers), rock climbing, rafting and sailing. The winters offer great skiing, both locally and in Austria and Germany. Snowboarding, downhill, cross country are all available within an hours travel. If you're more of a culture hound, there's a theatre here, showing opera and ballet for those who don't understand Czech. There is a vibrant music scene, with live bands playing most nights, and in the weekend you are spoilt for choice. There are also several galleries, both contemporary and classical. The atmosphere in the town is very relaxed, and most people quickly find themselves at home. Why not drink a glass of traditional Absinth in the Camel club (Velbloud), or have an unpasteurised, unfiltered beer next to where the two rivers meet? Complete your TEFL course in a small and vibrant town, with jazz, blues, rock, classical and alternative music, as well as nationally recognised contemporary art and theatre. |
